GEORGIA HISTORY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL / ADULT
Georgia History for Middle School. 12 weeks. No text. Georgia History for High School/Adult. 12 weeks. No text.
This is your State! State pride is something hard to come by these days and that probably has something to do with the fact that few know or understand the impressive history of Georgia, “The Empire State of the South.” The last of the 13 colonies to be founded, Georgia was started for purely humanitarian purposes. It was a shelter for the religiously persecuted and a new start for the debtor. Over the years, Georgia has grown to be the door to the southeastern United States. Georgia is even directly responsible for the 11th Amendment. This class traces that exciting and interesting history. From the Spanish explorers and James Oglethorpe, to the Salzburgers and George Whitefield, to the Revolution and the Constitution, to King Cotton and the Confederacy, to the World Wars, Jimmy Carter, the Olympics and today. This is your State! Learn its history and be proud!
